Towing with 2.5i?

Hey,

The rated towing capacity of the MY04 2.5i is 1500kg correct? Does anyone know or have experience with towing a load up around this capacity? I'm looking at towing a Pulsar (~1100kg, yet to weigh it) on a lightweight trailer (~300kg). I didn't buy the Lib as a tow car, but if I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone than that would be great. I won't be towing the Pulsar daily either, only occasionally to race meets and to workshops etc.

Cheers

I put a tow kit (transmission cooler) on mine, it was $110 from subaru..

You might want to look at a braking trailer? I have NFI about those!

I would be looking at a Hayman Reese tow bar with electric brakes on trailer, you may want to look at beefing up rear springs to save squatting in the rear or some sort of ride levelers from them as well.

Ah forgot to mention that the car has the Subaru tow pack (Hayman Reece tow bar and auto transmission oil cooler) :).

Oh yeah the trailer will definitely have brakes, its a requirement by law for a ATM or GTM of 750kg or greater.

Cheers
