Accessing the oil filter in MY07

I'm half way through changing the oil in my 07 and cannot for the life of me work out how to access the filter. The manual says to take off a plate IOT get to the filter but my car doesn't have said plate. Do I have to take off the entire plastic splash protection plate?

Yes, well assuming yours is the same as mine, that splash gaurd needs to be removed, it is held by 3 bolts on the bottom and a clip on each side in the wheel well
