Fuel Additives

Postby Corsair » Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:02 am

Can anyone recommend any non-Subaru fuel additives?
Looking for something to either clean or boost efficiency, as I feel I have recently had a batch of bad fuel.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

BP Ultimate.

don;t use additives, they can gum up the fuel system and do more harm than good
if you're too worried, drain the dodgy fuel
otherwise just drive it sedately and keep topping it up to dilute the junk fuel that's in there

Personally I would be draining and flushing out the system, also don't forget to put in a new fuel filter too.

Are you saying you shouldn't use the fuel additive that Subaru do on a service?

i don;t believe in any fuel additives (unless it's flashlube for running ulp in old cars)
you just do not know what is in the fuel you're using and in the the additive and how they will react.

we did a heap of testing of this kind of junk at Uni and it's amazing how easily two oil/ fuel based liquids will turn into glue

As for letting a Subaru dealership service your car.......... :butcher: :butcher:
