Engine maybe Gearbox trouble

Postby Hicko » Thu May 24, 2012 6:54 pm

Hi all
Car trouble with a '98 Liberty RX 2.5i Auto.

Problem
Not sure what the cause is or where this post should be due to this fact.
Under acceleration there is a hesitation that causes the car to "kanga" bad enough to sometimes cause the car to stall (First happening overtaking on the Highway). This is a intermittent fault which also make more fun to find
Has Also stall at idle and low speed.

Engine light has come on once Codes were to 23 MAF,13 Cam sensor and 11 Crank angle sensor none of which seems to make sense to me for the issues I'm having.

I have replaced the fuel filter with no difference to this issue.

Any ideas would be appreciated as I have no idea where to look next beside taking to dealer.

Clear the codes and see if youre still getting these error messages. Sometime it does happen that could not be related. Get these parts replaced/swapped over to clear the codes.

Well I wipe the codes I think now the check engine light just continues to flash as the long pulse rate when black connector are connected

Then tried to activate D mode (green plugs) and no code have appeared.

Have booked it in to get the scan tool connected and go for a drive next week.

Cheers
