LIBERTY MY11 2.5i LOOSE DRIVERS SEAT

Postby sandi28 » Fri Mar 23, 2012 2:19 pm

I wondering whether anyone else is having a problem with a loose drivers seat (manual operation), especially when near the highest position? Mine started moving back and forth a few mm (just enough to be annoying) at 9 mths old. Dealership have had the seat out but can't fix it- Has anyone else had issues with this? :(

not my own car but a work vehicle we have has lots of movement.

Have you been in contact Subaru Australia directly?
They should take your claim seriously.
Also any other dealers in your area you could approach?
or alternatively go and see the salesman you bought the car from. and get them to hassle the service/ warranty people
tell them things like it's probably going to prevent you from buying another Subaru from them (Salesmen are suckers for repeat customers, especially females)

hello there. I know that my post here is quite late and I do apologize for that. I'm just interested at the topic here. Anyway any updates for this? I have also issues with my driver's seat a couple of weeks ago and I'm kind of pissed off to the situation. I'm planning to replace it, do you think it is a good idea? I don't have time going to dealers and shops because I'm busy with my work that is why every time I go home, I often look for parts online for my subaru. I hope that I can solve this before the month ends.

yeah, swapping seats in/ out is easy.

take caution with airbags if fitted.
i.e disconnect battery. push brake pedal to drain residual current and leave the car for 5 minutes
unplug airbag connector.
