Internal engine work.

Hey guys,

I've got an 01' Liberty Heritage and I'm putting it in to get the head gasket replaced soon. I would like more power from the car and from what I can gather from what I've read so far is that an exhaust system and a good tune are the most common mods people are going for to get a bit more power out of these engines.

Has anyone replaced any engine internals in these engines, and do you think it was worth it? I am most likely going to opt for a new exhaust and settle with that until I upgrade to something a bit newer.

I have read a lot of the threads on the site but haven't really found much on this subject. Maybe because it's probably a better option to get a B4 front cut?

If you are only doing exhaust and tune there is no need to upgrade internals.

I'm just looking for a few more options to get a bit more power and wondering if internal engine work is worth keeping in mind. And if so what in particular.

Don't waste your time. Buy a turbo model or B4 front cut
