Hey,

What is actually changed in this service and how much would it cost. I read that for the 2L model it costs about 1700 which includes timing belt change. Is this the same for the 2.5L model?

Thanks

Timing belts are changed at the 100,000km service on both the EJ20 and EJ25 to my knowledge (so both the 2.0L and 2.5L NA - not sure on the turbos!). Because Subies have a boxer engine, there's two of them to do (one on each side), and there's a lot of labour involved.

I've been told $1,000+ for the service. Your service manual should tell you exactly what gets done.

If your willing to pay 1700 for a service then go for it.

There is already a current thread on the 100k service.

Go to Pulse Racing, under $1000 and knows more than the apprentice who works on your car at Subaru.

hey guys and girls

Im in brisbane, and a guy at my work told me about this place on the east side (Capallaba, im fairly sure) that did all timing belts and fluids for around $700.

he just got a transfer to another location within the business.

i cant remember what the company name was, althogh i think he may have said it was C & J. Although, i did a search and found that was at kingston.

so would anyone be able to help out or know of this place?

Or any recormendations on where in brisbane to get my MY01 liberty serviced?

cheers

I had the 100,000km service on my Forester done by Boxer Service in Brendale and it was $1001.00 all up.

$75.00 of that included the replacement of the top radiator hose and the neutral switch, yes the MT's have a neutral switch too.

I have been using Boxer Service for a couple of years now and they are worth every red cent and the drive down from the SSC.
If you book in early enough, e.g. a week, for your Service you can normally get one of the loaner cars or if they are both gone they will take you up to the Strathpine Railway Stn and you can go into the City and they will ring when your car is ready and then they pick you from the Railway Stn and take you back to collect your car.
