Hi Guys,

Ive posted about this topic before but i would just like to get a rough idea on prices and your thoughts..

basically, i was at the shops and was just leaving when i couldnt get my car to go into gear.. long story short, had to tow it to the mechanics.

He had a look and discovered that the fork & bearings were gone. So now thats changed...$380 for both inc labour. He said that he has fixed the squeaking noise ive had before.

Wasnt fixed, its still there...although i can drive it now its still squeaking.

Now, like most of you have said in the other post, its the DMF. He has quoted me $900 for Clutch Kit & Flywheel +Labour.. is that cheap?

Does anyone know a good mechanic around the area?

that sounds about right and a pretty routine quote TBH.

hi guys

i have just recently purchased a subaru liberty 2007 and have noticed all the aspects described here and on another another thread, in regards to the flywheel and reving above 3000, only problem is i didnt notice it when test driving because i didnt rev the car so high at the time, i didnt get it from a subaru dealer, i still have statutory warranty and picked up 3 years extended warranty, do you think the dealership would replace it for me or does it come under wear and tear?

btw i noticed earlier people were asking for a panel beater, if anyone needs minor repairs done on their car i have a guy who is pretty cheap, bit of a drive though if you live inner city.

Ben

That's cheap.. $900 can get anything+installation.

The clutch pro kit, clutch+SMF costs $600 cheapest, before installation.

I will change my clutch around next week.

Anyway I had 1 question, if I'm not wrong, the clutch pro provide anything but I need to buy Spigot Bearing isn't it?

Thanks

Naldo

Are you sure it is the clutch/flywheel issue ? My clutch was squeaking and it was the Slave cylinder which providers the clutch with its hydrauclics. Remove the rubber grommet from the slaver cylinder and try spraying some WD40 in it to see if it makes a difference.
