Since I picked up my MY07 2.5i I've noticed what sounds a bit like a slight tappet like noise when accelerating. I was wondering if this was normal.

It sounds like it's coming from the left side of the engine. It doesn't sound like a pinging noise, but then again, I've never driven a car with a boxer style engine, so maybe it does.

Not good. I have heard that noise twice. Both times have resulted in a replacement short engine.
Big end bearing both times. 1st time is was covered under warranty. This time they have offered to give me the engine if i pay for the labor. Just wondering if I have been very unlucky or if there is an issue with the engine. Anyone else heard anything simillar?
