over-revved in 3rd. I feel the piston was already weakened when I over-revved once and lost a cylinder due to contact with the spark plug

Can you post a picture of the head?

That one was from my mechanic after they took it apart. I haven't seen it myself and may not be able to till tuesday next week due to work commitments.

I'll get them to take a pic of the head. I have to call them anyway, I hope that missing chunk of the piston hasn't made its way into the cat, I want them to check the cat for me.

Subscribed ! Awesome build I love how supercharges sound would so love to do this to mine one day.

I'm thinking of possibly stroking to 2.7 then doing cams then supercharging it that should yield 200+ kw atw

I would hope I'm keeping my eye on this !

Is there anyone who has stroked their motor on the forum?

I'm sitting on 200 atw kW with stage II raptor kit (premium cooling pack), stage II cams, TWE headers and XRT tuning :D

Sorry guys, I've been away for aaaaages but I'm back! Sorry again to hear about that piston cracking blademaster, can't wait to see it back on the road. I had my clutch replaced under warranty, something broke that never should have. Apart from that, the car hasn't missed a beat (touch wood) and has just been getting faster and faster as winter hits

Good to see Team H4 keeping the development happening

Well with 200 killer-wasps atw already and an impeller upgrade to come, I'm very excited to see just how far the H4 can go! It has already surpassed my every expectation

Interesting one we found on Bomberlegacys Raptor 08 Legacy was that there is engine load limiters on the 2.5's based on RPM, which seriously restrict power or driveability. Anything over 1.5g/rev was ignored so previous tune needed heaps more fuel at 1.5 to account for fuel needed at say 2.2g/rev. Once lifted, could be run leaner was a smoother torque delivery at all rpm and throttle ranges. 1.5g/rev on a 2.5L is around 0psi boost so no surprise why Subaru had this logic in the ECU!

Wow, impressed much. Bomber should be a happy lad now

Interesting, west_minist of X-treme Racing Tuning was having issues with Subaru's ECU logic when he did my tune. He was also having trouble with the engine load. I'm not sure on the exact details on the problems he encountered and solved but in any case: it's great to see the successful development of tuning. I find it astonishing that the Denso ecu is so versatile.

Normally, the injector size and MAF scaling, along with all engine load values would be 'halved' to hack the ECU to bypass the value so if engine load should be 2.2g/rev then it would register as 1.1g/rev and still inject the right amount of fuel and right timing etc. Nothing wrong with that approach but knowing the value is there can only further improve the tune :)

Just a quick update as I am currently doing some tuning with west_minist. A while back I had some TWE headers fitted and saw a massive torque loss that we were unable to tune. All this time it was believed the headers weren't right for the system.

However recently my brand new HD clutch failed and was replaced under warranty as it was very obviously defective. I then had an epiphany!! I installed the clutch at the same time as the headers. I had always believed the heavy pedal and slight virbration at idle was just the clutch, as I had read of this experiance when going to a HD. However the replacement is SO light and smooth that leads me to believe it was defective from day 1. It also explains why I'm logging such significant torque gains after having only the clutch fixed.
