Understeer/Steering problem

Sounds like pretty normal understeer... Also sounds like you haven't had a lot of experience driving the car at the limit, which is significantly easier to reach in the wet!!

For the car, I would suggest an upgraded rear swaybar would certainly help reduce understeer, but for yourself, I would get to a skidpan day or track day to get a bit of experience learning the limits of the car in a controlled environment! As you pointed out, finding the limits of the car on the street can lead to much more damage being caused!

Yeah, I never drove it to the limit, unless that one that I spin out in the roads.

But I need suggestion, better get the Swaybar or the Billies that hamish sell?

Really interested on both, but my money only can get one of those.

How the rides of the billies? Will it improves handling? And the comfort? Plus, will it fit my 2004 MY05 2.5i libs?

don't waste the money on sway bars that arn't aftermarket. If you going that way go whiteline 22mm.

I find bilsteins are great and alot better them oem ones but do have a bit more noticeable thud on spoondrains / potholes etc.

If it came down to EITHER Bilsteins OR rear swaybar only, I would definitely go the Bilsteins. The swaybar should come very soon after though to make the most of the setup.

Hamish is right, don't waste your money on the specB bar unless it is really dirt cheap. I'm talking like $50 shipped. Especially if you aren't going to fit it yourself and need to pay someone.

I had whiteline swaybars on my old Lib and it does wonders! The car handled and drove beautifully afterwards!

Bilstein Spec B will fit my car?

I think that I will end up with Bilstein since I know it's a good brand and by changing the set-up on the Suspension, it will affect on the handling.

I never ride on billies. Will it ride like the standard? Or firmer? Or harder?

Hopefully that billies can drop to $500 dollars a set. LOL.

A little firmer but much more controlled. The specB springs aren't very firm so it won't be bad at all.

Yeah I read in some websites, that the Bilstein in city driving that got bumps and gutter, it will make noise like "bam". Is it true?

I like the comfort from the standard car. But I got a lot of understeer and yeah, I hate the steering feel. It feels lazy..

mine were fine... but on the spoondrain/bumps at a higher then normal speed was a bit of a thump but no noise

Last month, 25th of June 2010. And I it's only 3000KM. Still, the standard car from the first time I had it, the steering feels not really sensitive. Not too direct, a bit lazy from what I feel.

My old gen2 wagon did this all the time. Clutch dumps on a wet roundabout would get like a quick vibrating sound and a front slide.

Fitted a 22mm whiteline sway in the rear and that changed the car loads! i could get the wagon sideways in the wet, good times

In Spec B guise, a Bilstein sports suspension package introduces stiffer springs and dampers and virtually no impact-absorption. I don't want to spend 600 bucks but the car ride will be horribly hard and make rattles around dashboard and chassis. Need someone give input who's using the spec B suspension.

If not, I just buy the whiteline sway bar. Because I still want comfort ability from the car.
