Deep is good :D :D but no drop in lower end power?

So my aftermarket mufflers with the addition of a 3" catback I should expect a pretty deep note?

i can guarantee you if you go 3inch catback WITHOUT a resonator its goner drone like a b***, i had 2.5inch catback with phat quad tips and that drone, being that your goner go cannons i expect MORE drone. and im pretty sure if you go 3inch you will lose performance, i think 2.5inch is the best since (this is what the muffler guys told me) after the cat its 2.5inch already so if you go 2.5inch catback you essentially have a 2.5inch full exhaust system. and if your after free flow get rid of the catalytic. trust me, my car now is so much more responsive without the cat.

i did so many tests with my exhaust system, from just "removing the stock reso", to getting a 2.5inch catback with phat quad tips, to STRIGHT 2.5inch pipe (that drone liked a bitch) (thats just me taking out the cat) and now with my current system 2.5inch with a aftermarket resonator and to me its the best at the moment. i read up on heaps of forums that no matter what you do if you go NO resonator you will drone. and i experimented that myself and did drone. so if your going to go 3inch i HIGHLY recommend you to get a resonator.

Tommy your car droned badly as it's auto, and you would want a resonator to keep the exhaust note legal, otherwise it would be too loud. also removing the cat is illegal, get a high flow cat if you decide to change it, but personally I'd leave the stock cat
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

Ok, so I guess my question then is - Because I already have my aftermarket canon mufflers fitted, should I be getting the full 2.5" catback to mufflers (including new Y pipe) or will a replacement 2.5" cat to stock Y pipe (as suggested by Liverpool Exhaust) still be fine?

sorry if I'm being dense.....

from memory i read somewhere that the liberty already has 3 CATS? and that removing one would still keep it under emissions control? and yea maybe the point is my cars auto thats why it drone more but even so i still think 3inch would be a bit too big for a 2.5i..

and garthos a 2.5" cat to stock y pipe should be fine.the liverpool exahust guys know what they talking about haha

Yep, I couldnt agree more, Im a return customer to Liverpool Exhaust even though I live on the opposite side of Sydney :D :D

Just thought I have a little cash to play with so if keeping the stock Y pipe was in the intrest of saving a few $$$ I'd be happy to go all the way, but I think I'll stick with Shev's suggestion.

Thanks again.

Hi Guys, just thought I would give a quick update on this, as I was finally able to get a couple of videos with decent audio after removing the centre resonator. Summary is I'm stoked with the outcome, and for $200 its the best bang for buck mod I've done and will keep me happy for awhile now :)

I've posted a couple of vids on youtube for anyone interested, I will also add to the exhaust mods page for other users considering the same type of mod.
