have had my 04 manual GT wagon for 18 months. When I bought it I felt it may have had a intermittent misfire under load and at idle, after a while it became more apparent (to the point where nothing would come out of exhausts for a second when idleing), Subaru dealer could find no faults with diagnostic equipment, cut a long story short ended up getting injectors removed and cleaned, this fixed problem. Good news .

Bad news , it's back 12 months later. Again Subaru dealer diagnostic gear shows no faults, before you ask, run BP Ultimate 98 octane, 99% of the time, Subaru injector clean and top of head cylinder clean used at services. Now looking at getting a complete fuel system clean, which includes on car injector clean.

Secondly, to me your symptoms sounds similar to some of those attributed to O2 sensor playing up

Have you ever had it tuned? Tune could be rubbish which is clogging up your injectors etc...
