Diagnosing problem?

Hello every one I recently bought a 2003 bh5 liberty gx and it’s been great, the gear box has always been a bit crunchy I never thought much of it. Recently it started making an awful sound anytime I went into 5th,then it became if I pulled the stick to the far right of neutral, since then it’s started doing it all the time unless I pull the stick towards me. Is this a common issue and does anyone know the fix?
