Exhaust replacement - recommendations

Postby xdirex » Wed Jan 22, 2014 12:24 pm

Hi all,

I've just had my 100,000km service and been advised that I have a hole in my exhaust (I assume muffler) and a crack in the engine manifold.

I've got no idea when it comes to exhaust systems and would like some recommendations on a cost-effective replacement or repair (if this is even possible).

My car is a MY07 Liberty 2.0R wagon.

Questions:

1) If I replace the system I'm assuming going aftermarket is both cheaper and better?

3) Are there any performance gains to be had with the 2.0R engine, or should I just get something really basic?

4) What kind of price range am I looking at for either a basic replacement, or perhaps something a little higher performance that doesn't break the bank.

5) I'm in Randwick, Sydney. Any recommendation on places to take my car? I'm happy to drive.

Thanks heaps for your help guys.

Pat.

One tip: something custom made should have a better chance of fitting 100% to your car.

Cheaper off the shelf brands (and off the shelf on the whole) are more likely to give you fitment grief.
