Hey all,

When purchasing my 06 Liberty 2.0 a month ago I was told that this specific part was not working, and that was why the CEL was on and the Cruise Control was flashing.

We (Mechanic Friend) took it out and gave it a good clean and are yet to clear the codes to check if that was successful, but in the case that its not, I need to source this part and replace it ideally before I drive up to Sydney (from Melbourne) right before christmas so I can use the cruise control.

I was told that it was a fuel sensor or something, after googling for ages I can't find anything, or any information.

Alright after some looking around it looks like something to do with ERG, a pump or something

No idea where to even start looking for one, however today when I started the engine I noticed the CEL was off, and the cruise light was off, without clearing the codes first.

I did some googling for you;

part number 14845AA220 - EGR valve. (Exhaust gas re circulation). In short, its for emissions. Its late, someone else can probably go into more detail haha

Best bet it Subaru if you need it asap.

You can clear the code with a reset or better still log the code with a Tactrix or Ecudatascan first and use that to reset too. A few members have those in Melb inc. myself (but n00b).

Does you car have a dealer service history? My car did the same when there was fuel of questionable quality in the thank until it got the ecu update.

I took it off and we gave it a good scrub inside, cleaned all the built up crap off and put it back in, a few days later the CEL and Cruise lights were off, and I can confirm that cruise control is working, I was thinking I would need to go clear the codes first but it seems to have corrected itself.
