Unknown engine item - air pump?

Just wondering what the thing is in my engine bay. When you open the bonnet it is on the right hand side of the engine and looks like a pump type thing. Air hose comes off it which runs to each bank via some kind of actuator. From there is appears to run down to the head or exhaust couldnt quite see. I only looked at work so didnt get too involved in working out what it is.
The pump thing has the denso part number 125600-0170
