That is interesting. Are we talking about ignition timing or VVT? did that anyhow affect the fuel economy? Also, not sure whether this would be so easily applicable on these Hitachi ECU's, but you might know better. So far I haven't been able to use freeSSM with that VAGCOM cable I got, but I haven't put the ECU in test mode neither. RomRaider works ok.

well in that case I have wrong cable as I cannot connect via freeSSM, it uses one of those CH340 drivers, it's not the FTxxx chipsets. It passes the connection test, but when trying to get to the ENGINE, it just fails with some message. PM Sent.
