Interesting and timely for me, I'm due for a set of 4 new tyres in the next 3 months and seeing as I'm up for the 4 and have an unused spare, I'm thinking in a tight-arsed fashion that maybe I can get 3 only and use the spare as a 4th.
I guess the next stage is to check for signs of cracking etc as per the pics in the 1st linked article.
Mind you, the overall age is less than 5 years so hoepfully things are OK and I can only blow $1300 on 3 new tyres as opposed to $1700+ for 4
(I'm just going to go ahead and get RE050as, they seem to be the best even though pricey and considering the 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' axiom, I should be better off going with the OEMs)
Now that I'm in North America, I'm greatly concerned about raised pick-up trucks and owners of wedge shaped vehicles. Seriously, not only do you have to be concerned about one hitting you in an accident, they stand a good chance of driving over you at the same time!
