I hate people with aftermarket HID's in low beam non projector lenses. Looks stupid and Way to glary in particular areas. Almost as bad a 4WD's

Too bad your in Adelaide. I would have liked to see your 5000k headlights. How much were the replacement bulbs if you don't mind me asking? I don't find the 6000's too blue, but then again, I havn't seen the 5000's to compare to.

+1 regarding people with HID's in non projectors. Pisses me right off. If you don't have projectors, either upgrade your headlights/fogs to projectors or do not install HID's.

I've got the 6000k as well, and they don't look blue. But then again, I've got nothing to compare against. :?

Really? Did you use Leo's bulbs? they are around $50 i think for replacement globes. Maybe different brands? But mine looks prettttty dam strong blue, wasn't to bad after about 5minutes but during the warm up period it showed a intense blue :? 5000k just looks a bit more stock HID.

it's bit hard when it comes to colour ... also when you try to compare with photos ...

the best is to see it in person .. Any one in Sydney i can show them 3000, 4300, 5000 or 6000k... if you want to see the difference.

to some people's eye 6000k is not too blue yet to others it's too blue .. but i have seen some 6000k that looks like 8000k .. so blue ..

5000k

And yes all replacement bulb is $50/pair + P&H.

Anyway if you got any questions just PM me ..

awesome walk through, used it yesterday to great effect. however the pop clip thingy that went into a mental plate was very difficult to remove on one side, then on the other it was a cone like clip (different to all the others under the car) and that wouldn't come out. so you can get away with just removing the pop clip towards the front of the car

Nice write up - Currently I have 4300k HIDs in my Gen 4 Lib, happy with the results, didnt even think about 6000k. I believe 4300k has better output than 6000k?
As in my previous Gen 2 with JDM projectors I did experienced on 6000k and 4300k and I did find 4300k better.
Cheers

4300 and 5000 are probably the best.
6000 starting to get bluer = less light.

The whole light output thing is a common misconception. between 4300 and 6300k have almost identical lumens. Its only around 6400+ k that lumens drop off exponentially.

I have an experience to share with you guys. Once I was in a remote place, my signal in my phone got jammed, i thought the problem would be with my service provider. After coming back home i gave black and blues to my customer care highlighting my issue. They pleaded me saying that the problem is not with them. Then i browsed through the search engine regarding my issue, i got a remedy for my cell phone, there i came to know the problem called signal jamming that is experienced in most cell phones. They have a product called WiFi Signal Jammer could be very useful to get rid of these problems. Check out the details here cell phone jammer and hope this information would be beneficial. Hope that u would pass this information to all your friends, so that they too would benefited, Stay safe, Cheers

Just be aware that retro fitting HIDs to non cleaning and auto leveling headlights is a NO NO.
Bit of reading for you without having to go through the whole ADR 13/00.

http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/ ... 56449.html

Think information to this ADR should go at the Start of the thread, don't want to be seen to condone this modification if not with in ADRs for a particular vehicle.
Other forums I am on will often distance themselves from illegal mods with a disclaimer at the top of each area.

Amusingly, the main reason for the headlight cleaning is in fact: salt. which is needed because: snow. This is because our ADRs cut and pasted from the euro specs for no good reason.
