The reason the cheaper VAG-COM cables work, is (as long you buy the right one) they have the FTDI chipset - which is what the tactrix cables use. These allow SSM data transfer (on the k-line from memory?) so sorry to say.. buy a new cable

Thanks for your response. I just bought a 3rd cable with the FTDI chipset and still the same problem. One question, my liberty is a 3rd gen, seems most of you have 4th gens, is this incompatible with the 3rd gens and below by any chance? Also i only have the green test connectors under the steering wheel connected as i couldn't find the ones under the glove box, do they exist in my car? Thanks. Beers all round if i can get this to work!

Just bumping this up,

Which versions of ECUflash support the Vag-Com FTDI cables currently?

To be honest I have NFI when it comes to latest windows, drivers and what cables are available. The old VAG-COM cables seemed to use the FTDI chip, same as tactrix 1.3 thus why it worked. These days VAG-COM cables seem to come with a new chipset and this no longer works. I moved on to a tactrix OP2.0 about 2.5 years ago, and I suggest most should do the same. Its not worth the hassle.

Mine works fine in RR and LV for logging and viewing data, but I can't read ECU flash data.
It's picked the correct FTDI drivers, etc.

So hoping that rolling back to an older version will allow me to read/ write.

anyone have the old 1.38 version?

I'm in the same boat here I believe.

Bumping to see if anyone can provide older versions of Ecuflash?

Cheers

Ok well I loaded ver 1.38 and tried again. Following the procedure on the first page I get to selecting vehicle from list, however it cannot connect to ECU and that's where it ends.

Any latest news on these connection issues?

Thanks.
