What you will need:
2 wire coat hangers for hanging the calipers.
1 roll of masking tape
1 or 2 cans of VHT Brake Caliper paint colour of choice. (I used 1 can)
1 can of VHT Brake Caliper Clear Coat. (optional)
2 Caliper Stickers of Choice. (Subaru, Brembo or STI) stickers supplied by maccatakka. he can be contacted on www.rexnet.com.au or http://www.ozfoz.com/
Remove both calipers from you car and mask up the pistons and seals. or you can remove them if desired
I had both calipers sandblasted as this gives a better surface to start with. either masked up bleed nipples or remove and find to bolt that fit. i found it easier to mask them up
use coathangers to hang the calipers. Apply 2 light coat with a 10 min gap between coats
after 2 light coats should look like this
wait 10 or 15 minutes then apply a 3rd (must be applied before 1 hour after 2nd coat) wet coat being carefull not to get any runs. Caliper will be touch dry in 1 hour and you can handle it in 3 hours but best left over night to dry.
I used Subaru Decal for the OEM look
Position the decal carefully as it CAN'T be removed once applied
using a soft cloth rub over the decal a few times and remove the top protective layer
now for the professional look i gave the calipers 3 coats of clear using the same method as when you did the red
next day is fitting day
what they look like with wheels on
end result
remeber when painting be patient and you will get the best results
