You can get those dual DRL indicator bulbs now that light up white and turn off when the blinker turns off. Just have to find a better quality bulb as there is a lot of cheap China stuff out there.

FYI on the 5th gen'ers, you only need to take off the outside/right side panel (pop the cover off, three screws, drop the panel on the right side) to access the relay.
It's the same grey-brown colour, right side of the steering column.

This guide helped me look for it, thanks.
