My 2010 Libery GT Turbo

Well here are the first photos of my new GT picked up yesterday morning with 14km on the clock. I felt like crap today and did not go to work. Note the photos are not the best as the car has lots of dust on it which is normal here with 2km for dirt to travel each day.

I got it with floor mats, boot mat, flexible tower brace, front bumper skirt, side under skirt, boot spoiler and rear bumper skirt. A misunderstanding by the lease company means that I did not get the STI front lip spoiler which might be just as well given my rural living environment.

This is a six speed manual and it is an impressive car to drive. I brought an iPod cable today as I have an older model, Subaru wanted a few hundred for this and I paid less than $20 so that made me happy.

Also came with whereis V16 so its all up to date.

Its a Belkin iPhone stereo cable and works great with an old iPod cost $19.90 from JB JiFi.

Hope your boss isn't reading this! I mean, picked up new car one day, and suddenly 'sick' the following day? No one's buying that! LOL! :P "Sorry, boss! Gotta break in the new car with an all day cruise!"

But congrats! Car looks great! Been meaning to test drive one of these one day and see one up close.

I know when I brought my last car, the Territory, I did take a day off to drive it all through the Royal National Park. The problem is this time I really am sick, started late last week. I also do not know how I managed to get home last night in the new toy, had to stop twice and was terrified I would ‘mess’ the new car. Fortunately I drive mostly rural road or the highway to and from work about 45km each way

However I did go in for a short time today, had to do a few brief things, and they all put on face masks so I left

Good buy. Could you tell me how much is the lease? I never get how the lease works. is that means you rent the car for 3 years and after 3 years you have to give the car back to them?

Also is the flexible tower brace really worth it and helps with the handling? I am having hard time to decide to get it or not.

The lease (a novated lease) comes to around $700 a fortnight but this included petrol, servicing, tyres, rego, insurance, and road side assist. The payment is take out of my salary before tax so may taxable income is lower and it acts as a FBT.

I have taken it for 3 years, you can choose between 1 and 5, and has a 40% balloon at the end of the three years, you choose to pay this out or to negotiate a new lease and they take the car back and sell it.

I can tell you the tower brace does have an impact. My mum has a MY10 2.5i Sports and I have the GT Turbo, so we have the same Bilstein sports suspension the only difference is I have 6 speed manual and she has CVT. Comparing the two, they live side by side in the garage, my car has sharper steering and greater steering feedback and handle better. This is leading me to have one put on hers when it goes in for its first service.

We hate the dust here now with two new dark cars, these only stay clean in the carport where I wash and wax them and then drive them out and they get dusty....the one down side of living in a rural location. So my car was dirty from one trip from the highway to the garage. Two trips to highway and back and they are covered.

Comparison photos , note hers is clean as I had just washed it with 2 coats of wax and a wax sealant (sorry this doubles up my photos)

nah, they're a part of the body styling kit or whatever it's called. Pretty useless if you are planning on changing the mufflers
