Thanks Rob for bringing these to Australia, it goes to show that with enough demand it can happen :)

Fitment is straightforward and is very good, I highly recommend removing the bumper totally so you can flip it upside down and easily drill holes for the nuts and bolts to hold the lip on securely.

I added a small finishing touch (genuine STI badge which is the same on the genuine lips, part #ST99820ST250)

One thing I noticed on both sides (worse on the passenger side) is the ridges on the lip from the mould. I initially thought they would be concealed under the bumper but they are quite visible. Did any of the other guys have this on their lips?

Yeah Jim, mine was exactly the same, but it's not tooo bad really. Here's mine:

I installed mine in a more haphazard way than Jim did (ie: didn't take the fron bar off). I found some of those clips things that you bolt through, which seem to be doing a great job at holding the lip up! They've pretty much clamped the lip to the bumper. Still... might get Jim to help me take the bar off on Friday and install it correctly ;)

Looks great on both your cars! But yeah, you should thank Rob for bringing them in for so cheap because you're still looking at $700+ for the lip from a dealer!

I might attack it with the Dremel with a very very mild sanding wheel :)

I'm too lazy for that, lol. Plus i'm scared of damaging something. I have very bad luck when I touch something that's been installed already, lol.

Well guys I am bloody glad they turned up and I didnt really want to have a lost shipment of 4 lips !

Looks good installed!

So just chasing some input from you guys if you dont mind?

1) I actually did not expect to see the 'ridge' on the lip as thought that would be under the car ....when we installed it on the local car I did not notice that ridge but maybe I missed it. I assume that it isnt going to install with the 'ridge' hidden - ie pull it under the car instead of being exposed?
If not, perhaps we should flatten that part out at the factory so there is no ridge? What do you guys think that have installed and seen it?

2) Where is my bags of bolts to install it? Do you prefer those other u shaped clips instead of the bag of bolts?

Glad you like them - now for the next range of parts for the MY04-06 that we have been keeping secret but I have no doubt will be almost as sort after! :)

Start the guessing! :D

cheers
Rob

2) The larger holes on the lip line up perfectly with the factory pop-it clip locations. The smaller holes in the lip I have drilled into the bumper and used the nuts, bolts and large washers that you supplied in the bag.

Great selection of hardware you gave us I must say, although I found no use for the self tapping screws as they did not have enough bite in the bumper plastic for my peace of mind. If you supplied just 6 of the bolts with nuts, and 12 of the large washers it would be adequate. It is nice that you gave a couple of spare plastic pop-its so I think you should keep them in the bag.

Avon managed to get his lip on without removing the bar, which if using that method would have to be by using those u-clips or jacking up the car to allow clearance for a drill. I'm pedantic and didn't want to fight gravity whilst fitting the lip and risk it being crooked so I did it the hard way :)

1) In other words, it is not possible to pull the corners of the lip in any more to hide the moulding marks. When I have a better look in the daytime I'll work out whether it bothers me enough that I'll try smoothing it out with a Dremel and/or some wet+dry paper. For the price the lip is still great value though so I'm not complaining ;)

My guesses: 1. Are you working on a sedan bootlid lip spoiler which uses the factory spoiler holes?
2. Vortex generators
3. Front brake ducts
4. Carbon Fibre interior trim pieces

I used 4 bolts in locations where the poppers should go, just for a bit more piece of mind (you can see them in the far corner of the lip in the top pic of mine) The clips seem to hold ok... not great. So I might try and take the bumper off and get 4 more bolts in those holes like Jim did.

All in all, looks fantastic! Cheers Rob!

Well... the clips fell off while driving to work, so I decided to install the lip properly. Took me ages to get the bumper off. The pop clips were clogged with dirt! It's amazing how easily the bumper comes off though, in all. And so light!

Anyway, the lip is now firmly bolted in place so I can rest easy now :D

Yeah Pop-it's are inventions from hell! Especially the ones under the bumper which are clogged with dirt which took a LOT of wrestling to get out.
