Thanks to fellow member gordy for promptly shipping my long awaited honeycomb grill (i quickly chucked it on the next night in the dark lol) been meaning to post the pics up but just havent had a chance...

the badge is a bit fiddly as its only held on by double-sided tape type stuff... i was paranoid that it would fall off so my dad had a good idea and we used a soldering iron to melt the plastic pins on the inside to form sort of a 'catch' over the holes so in the event the tape comes loose, it will still hold... hard to explain, sorry i didnt get any pics..was too keen to get the grill on haha

after seeing what the chrome surround looks like painted black, i think i will do it as well cos i think it looks great and a hellva lot meaner esp on the SWP.... but will leave it as is for a while til i get sick of it........

You reckon chrome painted would look good? I'm not 100% decided on that yet. Have you seen a pic or just think that it might look good?

The chrome makes it look classy, but black would look meaner and more aggressive. Do it!

Nah it's doesn't look DIY if you do it properly. The only problem I have had is rock chips which eventually chip all the paint off which is quite annoying. I only get all these chips because I tailgate Mark. Next time I'll prob put a few more coats on primer and paint and see how that goes.

Painted definitely looks better, but I think Trieus looks as good as it does because he's got the Spec B bumper + STi Lip which really sets it off. IMHO it'll look better than having the chrome, but won't look as good as it could with Spec B bumper.

Haha, I've been lurking around for a bit. Bought a couple new additions for the car which will hopefully be here for the next cruise, so don't you worry I'm still sitting there silently in the for sale section ready to snipe any good buys.

Back on topic - Like I said earlier, you should make sure you get a nice thick coat of primer and paint to ensure those rock chips don't rip up the paint. I've already had to paint mine twice, and will do it a third time after the next cruise.

I dunno, I reckon the Subaru emblem looks really lonely by itself, Get a GT badge or an STI

looks like the tribe has spoken, will paint it black when i get a chance and this melbourne weather clears up so i can give her a good wash..

darren, i know u posted some instructions before on how you painted yours and u mentioned u sanded off the chrome, then sanded the grill? im thinking u meant u sanded it a second time?

which primer and paint did u use?

and agree'd........ maybe its the spec b bar that makes it look extra hot........ but i have a feeling she'll come up good.... until i can get my hands on a cheap (and by cheap i mean reeeeeeeeeeally cheap) spec b bar....... lol...

Looks hot man, I like it, personally I love the black, everyone has pretty much said what I would have said, chrome = classy, black = agressive, especially on the white. Together with dark rims and the STi, it kinda completes that look.

GO TEAM WHITE!!!

Man I wish there were more of you white guys up in Sydney.... bar one.
