Fun with my new Autobrite lance - foamy goodness NEW PICS!!!

Finally after 10 weeks it arrived yesterday (now joined the ranks of Brendans525 and blacknwhite) and I just HAD to have a go. I didn't have any DP Xtreme Foam yet, but the Chemical Guys Citrus Gloss car wash still worked a treat (thanks Dave @ Waxit)

I've seen all the previous photos of others doing it and the you tube vids, but I still cracked up giggling seeing it in the flesh. The snow it creates is awesome and the gloss I got straight from the pressure cleaner gun after the rinse was great. Not much mitting left to be done.





Went back to Waxit today and now have a bottle of DP Xtreme foam so cant wait to try it and see how much better it gets. I can tell you it does slump the dirt off the car safely and easily using a good foaming gun

LOL! For a minute there I looked at the pics and thought either you've just been in the snow, you're showing off a foam gun, or there was a Peter North film happening near by.

I've always wanted to know how these thing performed. Can you post up 'post' pics, i.e. rinsed off and 'finished'.

Yeah and it gets better - used the DP Xtreme foam tonight and that stuff is BS how well it foams - its like whipped cream on the car then slowly of the following 5mins it slumps nicley and takes the dirt with it.

Its wax safe etc. But I must put the disclaimer you still should mitt the car as its not a completely Touchless excercise to rid your panels of all dirt (particualrly if you've been driving in the rain)

BUT it is much easier and safer for sift Subaru paint to clean it with minimal swirls and marring.

Sentinel, not a lot of point of the 'post' pics as it will look the same as any other time I was the car:) - Clean and shiney black wagon. One day I'll try a 'touchless' wash if you like and take some pics how that turns out

OK so you thought the first pics were snowy - well I tried the DP Xtreme foam today and its Nuts!!

I thought I'd humour Sentinel and do a few pics and also attempt a completely "touchless" wash:

Before - the car is dirty, but not grimey. Its had a full week at work in a dusty environment (roadworks a block away) and fallout. I park under a shade sail at work.


Next we foam it up - now this is snowing!






From here I let it dwell for 5mins to slump off as much dirt as possible safley as the foam lubricates the surface (never let the detergent dry on the paint surface) After 5mins it really starts to disperse and show a shiney underneath






Now I rinse with a Gerni but using a special car wash nozzle (60deg Fan) designed not to damage paint. This is the immediate result:






I then dry with my leaf blower (note since I did no mitting/sponging whatsoever I would not entertain chamoising or drying with a microfibre towel. There is bound to be small particals on the paint that were not removed by the foam and would scratch/swirl)





Looks pretty good, not bad for a touchless wash, but under direct light I can see some grime spots and a few particles still on the paint so mitting is still adviseable. But a good experiment all the same.

Perhaps a different wax may help the removal of all contaminants under the foam alone who knows

Mmmmm viewing this thread reminds me that I should be doing something else…….

It also makes me think about another foam gun……


btw boxer I like your effortless wash process...... might need to consider a blower too.

I think im gonna have to buy me 1 of these critters, Shame our gerni doesnt have a fan nozzle just a straight beam, Unless i walk back and let the mist do its job. Works tops on my Dirtbike after a nice day of playing in the mud

Good stuff Pete but you are correct it is not a touchless wash , there will always be grime that is bonded on , funny enough the stuff that wont come off is cause it bonds via static charge , however it does remove 90% which means that there is 9/10ths less dirt to marr when mitting and for that is excellent
and for the accidents it nearly causes as rubberneckers drive by......What the F... is THAT!
