Must say, street lights / flood lights are usually a photographers worst enemy with automotive photography. I think you need to find somewhere a bit darker away from light sources, and create your own light. Light painting is pretty hard.

Here's pretty much one of the very very few photos of my own that has street lights in it that i think actually works: (apart from the over exposed licence plate light)

I hear what you're saying Jack but I actually did that on purpose as I wanted to add another element to the shot. Otherwise it would be a massive expanse of building up top which is plain, and then car in the lower half of the shot. I like lens flare personally. This was my first attempt at light box painting. Yes it was hard and yes I didnt have the right equipment. But meh...I gave it a shot.

Been a while since Ive posted some stuff of late. Mainly muck around and experimental stuff. So I apologize if the settings look a bit off. It's a work in progress.

haha yea i think the key is to not try and shoot for it then they will work out fine when you don't think about it lol, slightly under exposing helps too. I really like the sky's in your shots, great job! the UK has some amazing scenery, especially at dawn.

Hey guys! Some awesome shots in here, keen to see more from everyone!

Just picked up a Sony A7II with the 35mm f/2.8 this year and have been giving photography a decent go. Recently attended SubiNats with a rental Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8G. I'd love to know what you think of the results.

I do also tend to do a fair bit of tweaking in Lightroom, but this mostly involves applying a baseline curve adjustment with basic tone and white balance adjustments, with the occasional grade/radial filter. Going for a "natural+" look generally.

Full album here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/120342147@N06/6k76Z2 with some of my favourites below, and a couple more shots from earlier on. Cheers!

Howdy folks, its been a while. Lots has happened since I last posted.

Won a local photography competition to get one of my shots published in the Mclaren Vale Visitors guide. It was the beaches scene of Maslins Beach.

Check it out here. http://onkaparingacity.com/public/download.jsp?id=92949

It is the 1.5pg spread on pgs 76 & 77 :D

In the mean time, here is some pics Ive taken
