You could always increase contrast on just the rider in foreground, whilst keeping the background low-contrast...

Endless possibilities :P

Took your original image and changed the colour temperature, increased the contrast, black clipping and slight fill light.

nope, i do not mind at all, to be honest i appreciate your input. i dont understand the back clipping or the fill light. im not knocking what youve done, nor do i want to offend you, as i said i truly appreciate your input (anybodys input in fact, good or bad, just be honest), as i am just learning and dont really know that much, so all feed back is going to be good feed back, but im not sure if i like what you have done with it, there is something about it, im thinking that maybe it looks a little fake? i dunno, maybe its the colours? maybe its just me, it just doesnt seem to look right to me? thats just my honest opinion, i might even play with it some more and if i can actually do somethin with it i will post it up, again!once again, thank you for your input and advice.

I like the foreground in Tangcla's but I think the background needs softening, the colours look artificial.

Well I'm kind of into photography, but haven't spent a lot of $$. I bought a Nikon D40 with the kit lens (18-55 mm F3.5-F5.6) about 18 months mainly for taking photo's of my son, and have just been mucking around since. Here are a few of my fav shots

Just after buying the camera while on holiday in Sydney:

haha, I wish!! 12 months old and he's still not crawling! :( He sits well, stands well, and will even toddle if you hold his hands, but he wont crawl or walk on his own yet (turned 1 on Tuesday 14 July)
