I don’t pretend to be a photo wiz.
The ride looks million % better in the flesh!!!!

Not sure how other people faired, but it took me 3 tyre shops until someone could take the RE050As off the old rims.
Apparently the tyres have extra thick beading, so stores with old machinery can’t do it.
Third time lucky, Bridgestone Truck Centre @ Rocklea were able to remove them.
After they could not believe my dramas at a Tyrepower and another Bridgestone dealer, they were most helpful and would recommend them. They quoted me $530 for new RE050As, but recommended without hesitation to opt for Adrenalin’s at $100 cheaper.

Also, when the spare was removed for rim swapping, low and behold, I noticed the Subaru Australia second build stage compliance plate attached to the side of the wheel well.
If anybody has a contact @ Subaru Aust., could they please clarify what in the plate denotes the vehicle as a “tbSTi”

Since then the only other mod is what I believe is a JDM Legacy S402 Sti gearshift knob.
It is a 08tbSTi leather knob, except the shift pattern, "1-6" numbers + "R" as well as the STi are all in cherry blossom red. I saw it on a JDM website early this year and bought it as a momento when at the awesome Super Auto Bacs Store in Tokyo Bay recently.

Am eagerly awaiting a DP from the Phatman. He is currently on a break as a house dad and will do a batch very early in the new year.
He told me he has definitely not retired!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$530
A few months ago, RRP was $480, and you could get them for $400. Have they jumped that much?

That doesn't quite look like a stock exhaust there. Are those Genomes? But don't just tease us with a single picture! More pics and a mod list! :D

first up, VERY nice looking wagon mate, great choice of rims!
secondly, i think it's been said before in StuntGirls crash thread that seat covers are not recommended because the side airbags actually come out of the seat...

You can get sheepskin covers that have the side open for the airbags, well, the fella I got my last set at made them that way.

Nice looking wags Smitt, very nice indeed.

Nice looking car, and please put me on the list of people who are definitely interested in a new Phat DP (if such a list exists). Am willing to put cash down for definite dates on availability.

There's probably a market for 3" centre pieces as well :-)

Rgds

Great looking wagon you got there... very nice 8)

But....

Please remove those Bumperettes, IMO they look worse than a couple of minor nicks in the paint that you have to walk up to the car to actually see, rather than those ugly black rubber things that can be seen from a mile away, or at least have them colour coded to match the bumber so there less obvious :x
again IMO all they do is protect the paint for the next owner, & all the while you own it... it looks crap :(

CJ1177 - You are quite entitled to your opinion and that is respected. However.....
The bumperettes, in black, stay. As I said the ride looks much better in the flesh.
Besides, the handbrake likes them. Case closed!

Adam - Kevlar GT is correct, and this ride has velcro sections over the airbags for that reason.

Arith - MY08 gunmetal rims were considered, but preferred the look of the MY07's, and besides, I believe the MY07's are easier to clean.

????? Handbrake? Heh-heh.

But yeah, I can see where CJ is coming from. Most people try to achieve that 'integrated' appearance where everything blends in and has a smooth, uniform look.

That's why for any car line up, the base models will have the black, bare rubber trim around the car and bumper. And the higher and more expensive the model, the trim is painted in the same colour as the car so it looks more integrated. Damn those marketing people!
