"club.lib" video compilations (for fun 'n good memories)

Since I picked up a GoPro and Nero, I've been practising a bit with vid compilations - including several alpine ski trips (Aspen, Utah, NZ heli skiing). Great way to capture memories, as well as serving as a release mechanism for built-up ideas!

A few of us caught up recently to capture few rolling shots and tunnel runs. Hopefully will be adding a few more "club.lib" vids down the track

January 2016 - SYD cruise to Blue Mountains

Dec 2015 - EOY Meet, Sydney Olympic Park

June 2015 - with Jack, dawesy, blacktop, alessandro, nipple06, gloryboy, SYM

Cameras used: Jack's DLSR, 4 GoPros, and one Phantom2 Vision+ UAV

October 2014 - with dawesy, paggaz, blacktop, on2youliberty, satogixxer, SYM (with lots of ideas and photos from Jack&Ryan)

Great team effort all-round!

July2014 - with pips06, mongmong77, SYM (along with satogixxer)

No rolling shots this time around, as we only had an hour and a bit to take photos

June2014 - with satogixxer, rrussh, on2youliberty, SYM (along with Jack_Keaka, dawesy, and ricco)

And in case you havent seen it, here was the 2013 Sydney Xmas cruise

my video editing skills have picked up a bit since then...

Nice work Simon! Shame about the turn out, although it was convenient for the video (4 cars, 4 corners, etc lol) I think the poor turnout was due to the long weekend and everyone having other commitments on (guilty as charged lol) Hopefully the next meet will be better!

Great work Simon, love the video turned out tops! :D

Amazingly weather turned out fine too other than the wind (bit of a bummer for the drone :( ).

Was a good afternoon catchup thanks fellas.

Thanks Eric and Michael - very happy with how the vid turned out

Yes - we were lucky the weather held out for us (considering it was annoying rain the following day).

Drone action would have been a cool effect - that can be for the next meet (provided its not too windy!)

Brett gave me some cool ideas for the next one..... i'll keep those a bit hush for now 8)

You're using another camera as well as a GoPro aren't you? Those racking shots look great but that's not something you do with a GoPro.

Thanks Adrian :)

Jack used his camera for the out/in focus shots, but yeah pretty much everything was done with gopro, and fisheye mostly removed when processing

Kinda did it on the fly with minimal gear (and on pure interest in how these would actually turn out). Eric did suggest a few good ideas to help stabilize amd smooth the image (hand held stabilizer + skateboard, amd im sure theres other good tips out there).

I wasnt confident I could track a non-gopro camera smoothly (with just my hands on no other equipment), so I improvised with inverted gopro +pole option instead :)

I think ill invest in hand held camera stabilizer methinks

updated OP with a new vid from our very impromptu meet (pips06 was in the neighbourhood visiting from Canberra)

Unfortunately we didnt have quite enough time to do some rolling vids, so largely panning shots and stills

Still, provided some good practice re video work. I bought a handheld stabiliser, which seemed to do the trick.... but it was still very WINDY :angry2:

Nice!

We need a day without wind so that we can launch the drone and get some flyover shots.

Awesome video Simon, so much nicer with the steady shots! (I saw the stabilizer in the reflection :P)

Time to take it up a notch next meet. I'll bring my skateboard and I have some ideas in mind ;)

Thanks Eric - sounds good and looking forward to seeing your ideas :)

Starting to get the hang of it, but more practice is always welcome!

Michael - yeah hopefully the drone will get a better run next time :(
