Watched this video the other day... Bloody fantastic!

Was interesting that they rate that they rate the new FA motor so highly.

With the exception of the stupid Toyota injection system, just about everything on the FA is superior to the EJ.

Why won't Subaru release a turbo STI BRZ? I'd buy one tomorrow if it sounded and went anything like that

True true... Still interesting to hear that is better than the EJ series. The old EJ20T were always held in such high regard built or not.

by who?

early RS motors (pre 96) had HLA issues and as such had a recall to replace pistons and complete heads
then they introduced a TT variant... POS
99-00 had issues with noisy pistons (short piston skirts)
all EJ25's had head gasket issues
EJ25 oil consumption issues
the worlds longest exhaust runners
a physically large motor for it's capacity

Wouldn't it be more interesting if after more than 20 years of on the run improvements to the EJs, a brand new clean sheet engine design wasn't vastly superior?
