fucking hell your car is epic Justin! love the flames! haha

Great tip Michael! will have to do that tomorrow morning.
i use my gorpro to record my daily commute every day (like the russians) and am struggling with the reliability. menu jumps, freezes, doesnt charge and record properly. also trying to get top class micro SD cards here in Oz for a decent price is an absolute joke. only hope is that someone has family in Hong Kong.

i have just done the update finally as it wouldn't let me before because a) i had Java and it was saying i don't b) the manual update wouldn't recognise my 12 digit code. BUT it worked this time and ill hope for the best. because at this stage my patience is very thin. this thing better start working properly or it will be returned. :angry2:

also this seems to be a very hand website if it hasn't already been linked
http://goprouser.freeforums.org/index.php

as for the microphone> seems you have to buy the adapter
http://gopro.com/camera-accessories/3-5mm-mic-adapter

then buy a microphone set up depending on the situation

Here's what I do with the cotton balls (thought a picture explains it better). Basically you just stretch them out and stuff them around the camera. I think it acts as a bit of sound deadener while also stopping the camera from vibrating in the housing. You may or may not want to cover up the mic holes, your experience may vary.

If you're using your GoPro under water or in rain you might not want to do this. If you do make sure none of the cotton sticks out through the door or the seal may be broken and let water in.

I'd be interested to hear other people's feedback if they try this - did it improve your sound quality at all? Seems to work for me, at least on my motorbike (lots of wind noise and vibration to deal with).

Boom mic and 3.5 mic adapter arrived...

Plugged it in and it seems to have amplified the static, crackling and now a frequency humming noise. The mic was placed right near the gopro or around it....not good!

I disabled my in car parrot blue tooth and it made a bit of difference, turning off wireless connection between the gopro and phone also helps...

BUT! As soon as I placed it as far as away from the gopro it works 100%. Sounds awesome! :D

GoPro have just announced the Hero3+ models.

20% thinner. Lighter. 30% better battery life. Faster wifi. Better lens and sensor.

Nice. I read that article that bosco put up on Facebook last night and they didn't even mention that it was thinner. It did however say that the housing was smaller and that the camera can't move around in the housing resulting in better audio

Is it definitely thinner? I read that the old bulkier cases can be used instead if you want to use it to dive to 40m (because the new case can't go as low- or something like that)

Looks fairly similar in width. Not sure how you'd be able to use the same housing though.

Yeah I think the housing is just thinner. The new housing can't go as deep but I believe it's backwards compatible with the old housing.

Anyone seen these for sale apart from the gopro website?

Yep thats right, the camera is identical on the exterior apart from the mic and the lens.
My work stocks GoPro, GoPro Australia literally revealed it and contacted its dealers on the day it was released in the US.

So stock should be arriving around all shops within a couple of weeks.
The Black+ in AUS will retail at $580 ($100 more than the Black from memory?)

I'm not sure if many people will be inclined to buy a Black+ over the standard one with that price jump...

First attempts... Footage downscaled for editing purposes.

P.S. New youtube bites the big one. Automatically creates an unnecessary Google+ account and then puts on ads even if you specifically request not to opt in to their monetisation system. Boo!

Can't see it unless I paste the link into Youtube. Have you disabled embedding for this video?
