Photo editors?

So now I have a decent camera I would like to get into doing some proper photography of cars. Will be doing some next week and I will try to learn some editing (light and shadow stuff to begin with).

I have been recommended Lightroom and Photoshop CS5/6.

I was wondering what the photographers on here use to edit?

if i were you and just starting out, i would not go full ball and go for Photoshop. id go for a more noob friendly 'Lightroom' it has most of the essential elements, has a MUCH easier work flow. and starting out you wouldnt be using any of the advanced stuff PS offers.
what camera did you get?
if you need any more tips let me know, i can tell you anything :D

Thanks guys! Lightroom it is!

I bought a Sony SLR. Will be moving on to a Nikon or Canon in September if I decide I will stick with it (aka, if I determine I'm not shit).

Have lightroom and will do an edit tonight of some pics.

I will post them to be critiqued/bagged out :D

Im a professional and use Lightroom on a Mac for quick processing and Photo chop for fixing un fixable fuck ups .
If you starting out just play around with Picasa (free) until you know where you going.
Don't start me on RAW v JPEG

Question Why did you go Sony if you now feel you may go Nikon/Canon?

If you need any free help ask Jack_Keaka if you can afford help see me 8)

I am not knowledgeable on computers, but I am pretty sureAdobe can't be used on Macs?

Apart from that, that was a surprisingly troll less post from what I can see so thanks Buddha, unfortunately I may have to talk to Jack as I could never afford you.
He is charging in sexual favors though, involving honey, chains and live scorpions I believe.

The Sony was cheap :) Simple haha

The first part of that sentence proves the second part wrong.

Foot in mouth and all that. My technical knowledge needs improvement.

Btw I don't hate Macs, I actually prefer them, that was stupidity on my part, not bias :)

I use jpeg 90% of the time... Learn to use your camera and the white balance will be fine. And no one's going to notice jpeg compression on a 17MP photo :P
