Who stupid your the one the purchased it
G series 18-55mm repair would be more than the lens is worth .Look around for a Nikon 18-70 should pick one up for $200 best bang for bucks lens around
Why change camps just because
you stuffed up a lens

Haha, yeah. I should have done more research. I was going to buy the d40? d60? which was in my price range until i found out then were discontinued and i dont know who stuffed it up.. might have been when my mates borrowed the camera. I also remember lending my Wii out only to have it returned with a missing panel for the controller ports, might explain why my camera was broken.

Most of my photography mates own Canons and they share lenses and afaik all canon lenses are compatible? i thought it might be better that way.

I wouldn't call that a Nikon stuff up cos most of canons lenses would be 'G type' as well...use the camera to adjust the aperture next time

Fair enough, guess i'll be more careful with my stuff next time around.
Thanks bosc0, but ill probably go with a 18-70 from what the other guys have been saying.

Thanks Jack, i'll check out the 18-70.
