Thanks SYM & Gen5is for the info... Will definitely check it all out.

Hey Chris12, is your MY08 2.5 Liberty Limited Edition the "Luxury" or "Premium" GT or NA variant? Can't really tell from your pic?
2011 Gen5 Liberty GT (auto), STi front lip and trunk spoiler, Sports mesh grille, lowered and improved handling (more to come), Full X-Force 3" exhaust, King alloys - KiDo (Matt) Tune, Imported DRLs, Corazon Big Scoop - and loving it!! Hmmm, May need a bigger Turbo next :)

XR50 Turbo badge actually - opinions vary... So the question about your car induced silence - could I assume then that's because you might have a tacky "Heritage" badge or similar on an older and much cheaper non-turbo Liberty?

Wow... XR50T vs XR6T... big deal? The 'Turbo' badge is still the same on both variants.

My car is a Limited Edition 2.5i. Haven't added any badges, haven't excluded any badges.

Opinions do vary, and when you post on an open forum such as this, you have to accept that once in a while you're going to get negative feedback. Personally, I think the turbo badge is horrible and looks a little askew (but that could be the angle of the photo). I had a white prefacelift GenIV GT with black carbon grill and I sourced red GT Forester badges for the front and rear. I liked it, not many others did though. Even people that didn't drive a GT didn't like it. In saying that though, everyone loves my STi badges on my Sherpa. Go figure... No need to, that car is f***ing awesome.
Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

^^ Fully agreed, word for word

Key is to not take negative feedback as a personal attack, as its just another persons opinion and reflection of their tastes/styles/preferences. IMHO it can be ignored and dismissed as random verbage, or taken into consideration for the next mod.

My Number One Rule: As long as your happy with it, thats what is most important!

Speaking truthfully, I'm raising this as I would prefer to avoid a repeat of another emotionally charged thread :angry2: - and keep this as a thread to share both GenV individual/group photos and constructive feedback in a friendly manner :)

Whatever!!! :offtopic:

Distinguishing between the two Chris was a COMICAL poke at your Know It All attitude (wrong assumption of the badge's origin, but clever attempt - yes, sarcasm in case you missed it), as were the Cheap and Tacky reply comments...

And as for accepting Negative comments - guess it's the difference between accepting opinion or criticism:

Opinion - I don't like the Turbo badge or I'd go without the Turbo badge (owning the opinion from a personal non-confrontational standpoint)...
Criticism (unnecessary) - Cheap and Tacky, Horrible, Askew (confrontational non-personal statements)....

If you don't like something, shouldn't really feel the need to say so at all, let alone with a derogatory or confrontational statement - Maybe it's just a maturity thing

The Turbo badge is the one that is actually properly aligned btw - ie level; the Liberty badge from the factory is askew and the reason I didn't align the Turbo badge to it is in case I decide to remove the Liberty badge and AWD badge down the track, which would leave me with an askew turbo badge that would undoubtedly receive negative comment for not being straight :fool: ...

As a long-time enthusiast and member of several motoring sites/clubs over the years, I have not come across such delinquent negativity before as is burbled on this site and Fbook page - think I'll stick to my Porsche community for motoring conversation at an intellectual level and quietly use this site for research... :bye:

Wowsers... looks like I have joined a primary school playground... play nice people!

I actually like the Turbo badge... its just something different. What's the point of having cars all looking exactly the same... you have to put your own personal touches on it to make it yours.

I can talk, my Liberty has unpainted 'primed' wheels, soon to have a 3.0R front bumper and lip and post facelift grille... but it's something that I think will make the car more updated... So as you can imagine... I cop flack from everywhere. Well I can safely still say I haven't seen another Liberty like mine in WA... sporting the 'povo' look according to my friends. :)
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

Its unfortunate that 2/2 of the gen5 picture threads have turned into hate wars.

I'm pretty disappointed in the attitudes some people have. IMO if you don't have anything good to say don't say it at all. One of the reasons I bought a liberty over the WRX was to hopefully shy away from the "fully sick douchebag" stigma and mentality a lot of turbo Subaru drivers have. I love my car just as much as the next enthusiast and would hope that they would share the same respect to me and my car that I would to them.

Generally this Forum seems to have a good core bunch that are answering questions and contributing to threads, I applaud those guys/gals and am greatfull they are here! I just hope those negative few can tone down a bit so we don't always scare people off!!

Happy Invasion Day people, have an awesome long weekend!

PS. Post #69 giggity giggity ;)

I know now that if I don't like something ill just keep my mouth shut. I didn't think that saying "I don't like the turbo badge" is a hate war. I don't care what you do to your cars... do what you like! I thought you posted photos of your car for comments because it is a forum and that's what people usually do on forums.

I know when I go to AA we don't hold up pictures of beer in a circle and then sit there with our mouths shut.

I guess what I mean is instead of the above try something like "I personally don't like the Turbo badge, each to their own. But the color choice and rims are nice."

Finishing an opinion on a positive note makes the biggest difference. I'm sure you mean well on the forums, just wording it can be hard.
