I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

+1.
Visiting Japan in a few weeks and was thinking of making a pilgrimage to the workshop. They're only in Chiba, so it's not that far from Tokyo by train.
Not sure if it's worthwhile though... or indeed if they'd appreciate some random gaijin turning up. Opinions?

try your luck, from what i've heard, the tuning shops are pretty friendly if someone shows they are generally interested

It’s all about respect….. ask them if it’s ok to look and also if you’re allowed to take pics.

During my trip to Suzuka I dropped into a few tuning shops unannounced, we visited a R35 GTR, NSX and Ducati Specialist…. All them were more than happy to take us on a tour the minute they found out we were from OZ, they showed a few cars/bikes shipped from OZ just for some extra Jap treatment.

Also if you’re planning to visit Osaka, no need to visit the garages directly, head to Shinsaibashi of a Friday and Saturday and you’ll see anything from a Lower riders to garages filled with Lambo’s Ferraris, McLaren’s, Porkers etc., some crazy hella flush Honda, Soobi you name or dream it and you’ll see it….. Most owners love the attention.

I spotted 3 Rauh-Welt’s parked on the street one night, the owners weren’t happy with us taking photos, but were more than happy for us to have a closer look….. think we spent almost half hour an drooling and trying to communicate with the owners in broken Japanese.

Remember it’s all about respect……something I wish this country would embrace

Thanks Simon. Hmmmm, I might hire a car and check it out...

Appreciate that. Thanks Senator. I think my poor Japanese should stretch that far also.

If my wife consents, I'll give it a go. Probably be heading down that way anyway to eat dinner whilst in Osaka.

Absolutely on both counts. Thanks.
