I was under the impression that the Outback flares are just tacked on, thus hiding under the flares there are normal Liberty quater panels? Having said that and if that is the case, an angle grinder should fix any issues.

yea mate chromium black
yea all the same offset and size all round. I wouldnt go 245 as they would be way to big an just rub on everything. Im thinking of 225/40 next to get some stretch to fit more under the guards. I still have to roll my guards to make a decision.

kk!! man i really dont know what to do with these rims!
like i love the look of them but i need new tyres before i fit em on the lib! and i currently dont have $$ for tyres
so im tossing up between selling the xxr's and keeping the rota's or selling the rotas and using the funds to buy tyres to fit on the XXR's.
also do i only need a slight roll to fit these wheels in or major guard work! i wanted to stay clear from major guard work

Theres a lot more work then people realise when fitting wide wheels to an outback. As bosco said the flares are just tacked on while the fender is still complete underneath so its not as simple as rolling and pulling. I doubt you will be able to make it work with a 245 tire without it looking weird. My suggestion is a 225 tire or max 235. Look at this link to give you an idea (Obviously your wheels arent as wide as the the op's. Yours would be the same poke as a 9.5j +23 which would still need gaurd work):

http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/2005-outback-xt-wheel-fitment-included-184130.html?t=184130

And here is the "low outback thread" to give you an idea on wheel specs:

http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/official-lowered-outback-thread-180375.html

XXR 527 18x8.75j +20 215/40/18 which will poke 7mm less then 18x8.5j +10:

18x9.5j +30 225/40/18 which will again poke 7mm less:

So rolling is not an option??? 5 inch grinder and welder fixes everything.

Yeh should do the trick. What are the wheels your planning to fit?
