Use your bike's power and maneuverability to ride in open zones in traffic. In any grouping of vehicles there are always some gaps; find these and ride in them. Doing so will separate you from four-wheelers, give you additional room to maneuver and allow you to keep away from dangerous blind spots. Riding along with the flow can make you invisible to other drivers, especially in heavy traffic.

In traffic, ride in a slightly gear lower than you normally would so your bike is ready to jump forward instantly if needed. You'll be able to accelerate quickly instead of being limited to just using the brakes when that 4WD suddenly moves over. The higher revs can also alert your presence to the drivers around you.

Constantly scan your entire environment while riding from instruments to mirrors to the road ahead to blind spots to your left and right rear, beware and in touch with your situation.

Try and watch the cars around you, the hands on their steering wheel, driver's head movements through their windows and mirrors is an excellent way to anticipate sudden moves. Be ready to brake, swerve or accelerate, whichever seems best for the situation.

If you really want to know what's going on, watch what's happening at least five cars ahead.

Make sure you wear all your safety gear. IMO at least a helmet, jacket and gloves. Kelvar jeans and boots are also good to have.

Riding is also a great way to keep your brain and reflexes alert. It'll also make you a safer driver.

Most important of all... relax, have fun and ride on!

The 125 was great to learn on but now I realised it isn't enough power to over take lol
