Outback Limited

Postby ScoobyOutback » Wed Dec 15, 2010 7:15 pm

Hey I am the proud new owner of this 2000 Outback Limited. Its done hardly any kilometres and is in fantastic condition. It doesnt have any mods apart from me getting the windows tinted fairly dark and in the new year I am installing a 2DIN Kenwood DVD CD player. Also thinking of getting a rear wing/sun sheild for the back window. Anyone know where I could find one??

Congrats on the purchase! Limited spec is nice

In terms of rear wing, you've got three options:
1. Black tinted sun/dust guard that hovers over the back window
2. Rear spoiler
3. Jap-spec rear spoiler incorporating LED brake light.

The first two were on locally delivered cars. They're hard to find, but best bet would be ringing around your local wreckers.

The JDM LED spoiler can be gotten of Import Monster as shane said. There are also a few in Aus you can get your hands on.

Which type of Kenwood system are you looking at?

Hey, thanks for the feed back. Ive had a look at ImportMonster.com and have found what im looking for just need to figure out how to get one. There Melbourne showroom surprisingly is just down the road from my house so maybe I might go have a chat with them. I will also have a ring around my local wreckers and see what they have. The Kenwood head unit ive bought is a 2DIN touch screen one with DVD, CD, ipod and USB connectivity. Got it from JB HIFI really cheap. It looks really nice. This is its model number DDX5036. Its replacing the Clarion unit that came with the car. Bummed though because it now deems the 6 stacker useless, which i found usefull.

Once you get the USB and iPod in you wont miss the 6 stacker. USB is great, you can put as many different songs/albums/folders as you like on a USB stick, which is easy to change when you get sick of the music, or even just some of the music.
Instead of 6 cd's with 15-20 songs each, you can have a usb stick and ipod with 1000's of songs on them. :)

Welcome, the limited is a nice spec level, and that looks like nice and clean.

Thats a good head unit. I've got the DDX7036 in mine and it works a treat.

I'm taking the CD changer out of mine this weekend as I'm getting a subwoofer put in its place instead.

I had a look at your Kenwood unit. Very nice. I think your is a bit better than mine. Im also getting the stacker taken out as well when i get the new unit put in. Is the subwoofer your replacing your stacker with a subaru one or an after market one because i wouldnt mind doing the same.

I had it done on Saturday.

Two 8" Fusion subs. One under each seat. Obviously not as good as the massive 12" sub I had in my Liberty, but still good and importantly, I maintain the space in the cargo area and I don't need an amp to power it.

Very nice. I think i might eventually steal that idea for mine but maybe not two subs. Thats what i was worried about if got one in the boot as well. Get this i was speaking to my uncle who has a 2000 H6 Outback Luxury and its only done 78,000kms. I would have bought it off him but he wasnt prepared to sell it.
