Why I bought a Gen V ?
I actually need a car for work and having purchased it in Oct 2010 I've racked up 35000 km's already.
I loved the Gen IV when it 1st came out, in fact I couldn't wait for my last lease to finish so I could get the 2010 model.
But this is what came out!
In fact I spotted the Exiga before the Liberty and was in dis belief!
took me a while to warm to the car but the amount of km's I travel
the depreciation value compared to a Gen IV would be business suicide.
I looked at the VW R36 wagon but was too overpriced and had wanted the Subaru for at 8 years plus!
I also have 2 business's and 2 kids so the time to sit around and tinker with a 07 onwards is nil....
I can't fault anything with the car, the whiteline rear sway bar has made a big difference and handles like a dream,i'd also love to upgrade the wheels and drop the ride height but the reality is the loads I carry would be fashion over function.

I'd love to see Subaru Technica go to town on the styling of an STI tuned Gen V

If they released it lower, with bigger wheels & a more aggressive stance I'd be all over it :D

Speaking of, anyone know if they are going to do it?

:D

There's this: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/12/suba ... -in-japan/

As far as OEM, there was also some blingy version that subaru of america did for SEMA: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/03/sema ... auler-aut/

Otherwise there's a lot of modified ones from the standard tuning houses in japan.

Yep, I have the GT Wagon too. I like the looks of it. It's very aggressive looking.
One thing I hate though is the Sat-Nav System! It's sh1thouse!!
The reason I bought the Gen V, well actually it bought me!
I own my own business and I was originally looking a car for repping. Looking at the Exiga. All priced around the $29000-$35000 mark.
I then spotted a 1 year old MY10 with 19,000km and in Coogee, the next suburb!
Got the bloke down to $43,000. Now for a 1year old GT that's was pretty good considering a standard car was a touch less!
I also have an Audi S3 Sports Back which my wife insisted in keeping, with the baby seat in it!

By the way, where in NSW did you guys get the lowered Springs for it? and How much are they?

I have one, but, yes I do prefer the look of the previous model. I tend to buy as new and as current as possible. I'd never owned, or been in a previous model, so was only going on what I'd read.
I did look at buy a second had gen 4, but they weren't much cheaper than what I could get a brand new gen 5 for.
I knew the gen 5 had potential, and with a couple of tasteful mods, they are a really good car.
All I've done is, sti springs, rear swaybar, AVO mufflers and tune, new grill and painted the standard wheels.

Just looks that little bit better. :)

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the mods done? I was thinking of doing exactly that myself.
Can you PM me with what you paid if you don't want to share it with us publicly?
Thanks

Looks much better, great colour combo and nice mods.

Still those random angles & huge headlights almost half the bonnet length destroy any it

Looks like it Jerome, There's a white wagon with them near where I live.

They look great but need 19's to suit the big guards

I agree! They need to make 19" versions of the same rim. I'd even buy them for my car!

I'm liking the Gen V, stock they look crap, like a lot of cars.
