i got the VHT prep spray, caliper paint and clear coat all from autobarn.

mine are sprayed black with green ebc pads sitting behind it.
can get photos if you want.

make sure you use high temp paint

You don't need the backing plate on that side - you only need it on the sides that the the piston presses on.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...
