yeah so as i said my 55-200 with F/ 2.8 would produce that same result. so pretty damn close imo. the difference at that distance of 1.8 over 2.8 would be very minimal. fixed 50mm are nice but i don't like the fixed part but they are better quality. personally i compromise a little quality for a little versatility. used my friends fixed 50 and got generally annoyed at the fact that i could take the picture right the first time with out cropping too much. great for portraiture :)
Apparently i've never been on live television before

Latest shot I took of the Lib.

The space either side of the side mirrors was even but for whatever reason it chops it off when I post the photo, might be too big

What's bokehh? Photography slang? Haha

How extensive is your lighting setup Clarence? I try doing night photos all the time but they always end up being huge fails. I currently just use two external flashes on wireless triggers.

Look up what bokeh means...

Lighting setup isn't exactly extravagant, think outside the box ;)

Without giving away too many of Clarence's trade secrets, he only uses one light, and it's not a flash.
Do some research on light painting.

Much appreciated. I've really wanted to do portraits for a while so I've just been asking some friends to pose.
