Perfectly fair. Didn't realise it was part of a design/r&d process, cost would be held close to the chest.
Out of interest, what mods were done to get this setup?
- 2 x turbo's
- dual entry FMIC???
- Dual exhsts ??
- Obviously, fuel system (pump and injectors)
- Driveline strengthening???
- engine internals??
- Flywheel changes???
- What kind of ECU??? Clearly the NA Subaru one won't cut the mustard any more, lots of new parameters to worry about

I'm interested in how far you had to go to keep it safe.

I've got an itemised list somewhere I'll track it down and write it up on here when I get the chance but so far yes all of the above except for driveline upgrades and engine internals - that'll be part of stage 2. We also got a twin plate LA clutch from HKS (extremely rare and hard to track down and delayed the poject significantly). Also, the exhaust is a partly dual and partly singular but very large bore just over 3" all the through. We are still infact using the factory ECU with a Haltech interceptor. The factory ECU required some serious and ongoing alteration but so far is holding up well - which means the fabulous SI drive still works you can really appreciate the difference between them you literally get three cars in one:
I mode - the normal pottering around town with adequate overtaking power, I don't feel shortchanged in this mode anymore.
S mode - 80% throttle initially and then full throttle uncannily reminiscent in sound and feel to early 911 turbos with crazy lag (you gotta be awake to drive in this mode).
S sharp mode - 100% throttle response all of the time with no lag at all a complete ANIMAL to be feared and respected.

how did i miss this project. lol.

currently doing the same to my outback.
though i am low mounting them in wheel guards, and using scavenge pumps. should make the piping alot shorter and give better throttle response. godSpeed make a beautiful fmic with twin 2" inlets and 1 3" outlet. i was hoping to get around 230at @ 10-11psi. should cost me around $1500 to do the whole lot as already have an exhaust. TD04's are good for 21psi till 6000rpm on a 2ltr, then need to drop it to 13psi by 6500 so the turbo doesnt overspin. with 1.5 litres pumping the TD04's, you loose 25% flow, so you can run 21psi right through the rev range.

awesome, fab work is beautiful !!

The TD04's we're using are superb with very low rev spooling characteristics running off one bank of three 1.5L displacement each, which means almost no lag and toe twiddling throttle response. As you say thats 25% less flow - but bear in mind turbos spool up better/quicker with exhaust pulses rather than uniform constant flows. With exhaust peaks and troughs that are more widely spaced from three cylinders and the TD04's low inertia characteristics, 25% less flow won't even be noticed. But yes indeed we expect to use fairly high psi as well with the low comp pistons installed. Good luck with it all. It would be nice to meet up and compare notes sometime.

Hi mate, I believe you met a mate of mine today at Pulse and took him for a ride in your twin turbo'd beast. Sounds like all us H6 owners should start saving for the twin turbo conversion package from Pulse Racing.

I know you are using a a Haltech on the OEM ecu but I would like to know how or what is controlling wastegate duty and boost ? Those parameters do not appear in an N/A ecu.

Also where did you get the oil feed from for the turbos ? I did read that Perrin drilled holes in the block and tapped oil from there somewhere for their single turbo H6 build.

Congrats on the car.

David.

Boost is controlled by A boost controller and oil feeds for turbos is similar to Perrin setup.

Finally, after much delay I'm trying to arrange a meet and cruise for all those interested in seeing this car in the flesh and also anybody interested in just going for a cruise in this perfect trubo weather we are having. See NSW gatherings thread on "Liberty STI H6 Biturbo "THE BULLIT" MEET"

Cheers.
