Body roll, use the sway bars, I found a very noticable difference.
Don't forget sways have dif thickness and settings.... and change your endlinks too.

To also help with understeer/oversteer, simple adjustment in tyre pressure front Vs rear. Typically liberties understeer, try raising front pressure or lower rear pressure.

Definite braking and driving line makes a dif also.

there are heaps other fixes but that involves changing suspension geometry/ wheels/rims/weight./additional braces etcs....

If you upgrade both front and back, does that mean that the benefits of a stiffened rear swaybar are negated?

The function of a sway bar on any car is to keep max traction on all wheels but fron and rear independantly. Ie: if the rear left side "lifts" up due to a right turn cnr, then the right rear side will compress and the sway bar forces the rear left to compress as well - keeping the car as flat as possible.

If you up grade both front and back the effects are not negated - u just get a lot less body roll.

any dyno's etc?

Here they are, but this was before I got the Cold Air Intake so I'm not sure what difference if any that would make. I could certainly feel a difference in that there was more punch earlier on but I've never given a proper 0-100 time a run. If anyone can name a safe place to do one I would be up for it.

Been two weeks since I did a ligament in my knee so I wont go for another month but I think I should be alright from August onwards? Also I don't have a timing device.

Actually the MRT Dyno reading includes the Cold Air Intake where the CRD one does not. Power output should be almost identical though their DYNO's are different and will read differently.

Just came across this thread...funny you mentioned it because I
was talking to Leo (hks180) last weekend about hitting the track again.
I have just had new suspension fitted but I am having some problems with boost on my. I will hopefully have it sorted by end of this week. Provided everything works out I will be heading out to Wakefield very soon. Available dates are:
Wed 18 Jul, 2007 Open Practice/Speed off the Street - Cars Only
Thu 19 Jul, 2007 Open Practice/Speed off the Street - Cars Only
Mon 23 Jul, 2007 Open Practice/Speed off the Street - Cars Only
Sat 28 Jul, 2007 Open Practice/Speed off the Street - Cars Only
Mon 30 Jul, 2007 Open Practice/Speed off the Street - Cars Only

My preference would be for later this month, say from 23rd onwards.
Anyone interested? :)

If your going count me in, would be better if it were later in the month cause of my knee.

Have any of you guys replaced your springs?
I've gone with replacement springs to try and reduce the Titanic effect, which they have done to a certain degree, along with Super Pro adjustable LCAs and a set of RT 615's(as these have very stiff sidewalls)

I'd like to have a run at Wakefield and see what the understeer is like bfore I do any further mods like sway bars. Although I think I might have to get rid of the OEM front pads as I think I'm getting fade from road use or these pads have been cooked by the previous owner.

Do you recall your tyre pressures? I generally run 37-38psi cold as i found that at over 40psi under track conditions the tyres weren't being used to their potential.

cheers
Chris

Swaybars are great for reducing body roll and playing with the balance of the car (if you get adjustables). You will not regret installing them.
Wakefield wasn't to hard on my brakes (unlike Eastern Creek) but it does help if you have decent pads and rotors (and brake fluid of course). Tyres do get a bit mushy after handfull of laps as they get hotter so lower pressure to start with sound like a good idea. Good choice of tyres BTW, that's what I am getting next.
