1 OF THE BEST ACCESSORY / MODS FOR YOUR RIDE

Postby Libgtwagon » Tue Jun 15, 2010 8:33 am

Hi Guys
I found this website http://www.opalav.com.au via a friend of mine that knows a car dealer selling the product. I wanted to buy one from my friend but his boss wouldn't do a discount, so I emailed the company and they sold it to me, but I cannot post the cost as it would effect their distribution policy with their dealers. This car dealer is selling it to new customers for $699 as a add-on when buying a new car. We should respect the company for their policy and if you get a price, dont post it as its not the right thing to do. All i can say is it was less than half this price AND MORE.

Time to hook it up. I took my car to my Auto Electrician and after an hour and a bit, WOW. It works exactly like a Merc or a BMW car. I did some searching and found the manufacturer makes the same product for Subaru overseas (typical as we never get what the rest of the world gets) and other cars.

I dont have to turn the light switch off in the mornings and when it rains a little, the wipers go. When it rains more heavily, the wipers go faster. I love it as it makes your car feel more featured cause our Subaru's dont have this.

Something simple that doesnt give me the %^%ts now cause I dont touch the wipers or the light switches any more.

Enjoy

Hmm, I wouldn't call this the 'best' mod. Most convenient for the truely lazy, but probably not the best. :D

We have auto headlights and wipers in our Toyota Aurion, so you don't have to buy a premium car to get this feature. But I probably use the 'auto' setting about 10% of the time. I just like being in control when it comes to headlights and wipers.

Auto wipers annoy me. Auto headlights are a ho-hum feature as well. If it's dark, turn your lights on. If not dark, don't. You don't need to worry about these cars running the battery dry if you leave the light switch on when you turn the ignition off - a relay in the headlight power circuit is unpowered, thus cutting power to the headlights.

This would be the best mod for those idiots who drive well past dusk without even parkers on.

Manual control for me thanks.

+1

You saw what happened on Saturday night with a bit of dew on the EVO :P

Mind you, it just depends how good the system is... In the Mitsubishi's they are pretty ordinary... In BMW's they are actually very good.

Hey Tek. True. How do people forget?

I got them because when I / my wife drive into underground carparks, it is pretty good that the lights switch on Automatically. No Subaru does that.

With the wipers, it comes with dual sensitivity control so you dont have that issue you guys are mentioning.

I drive into long tunnels and they are instant. Come out of the tunnel and they switch off within a second. I notice Holdens and Fords with Auto Lights and they stay on for ages or dont come on for a while.

It may not be suitable for everyone, and i understand. but if you check out www.xenso.com you will notice that the same company makes them for a large amount of car manufacturers.

For what I paid, its a great feature. When I sell my car one day (hopefully the next GT Liberty will look normal) these features would attract buyers. they are a feature that all German cars have.

How much was your kit? I agree very helpful should be standard on all cars. Have not had switch my lights on for over 12mths now. Best $150 I have spent.

Firstly, sorry if you think it wasnt the best mod. i can agree as we tend to spend on other things. So i have ammended the heading.

Confidentially, I dont want to cause issues, the price i paid was $250 delivered to Parramatta NSW.

From all my research, this is the same thing in factory cars. 2 year warranty still applied cause I sent my warranty card into the company.

People will always think some mods are better then others but it's up to the individual to what is best for them. My kit is different from yours that's why the price is less. My one comes from turkey. http://www.Sens56.com

Don't know. How much was is it to install? Like I said my kit only does the lights beside I would not use auto wipers anyway.
