Stock 2006 Liberty Blitzen.

Based on the 3.0rb except with the Blitzen style pack witch includes 18" wheels, front & rear bumper and side skirts, door sills leather / suede seats with the Blitzen logo emblazoned on them, a Blitzen manual and service book case and cool little key chain it has the premium audio package with the nice McIntosh stereo also.
only downer is these did not come with the sun roof, and they kinda suck for a 3ltr 6cyclinder. sluggish from 2 - 3k rpm, but over 4k and she is on tune! Bilstein's ride is great and overall feels very luxurious.

Lights

HID's for the low beams and fogs. led's for the parker's and silver globes for the indicators.
light output is now awesome, the hid's are so much better than standard and they look great on the car.
i probably wouldnt have gone with hid fogs if i could do it over again as i dont think for the amount of 'real' use they get is worth the dosh...prob would have gone with some led's to match the colour output of the low beams. even still i love them

installation was a bitch...some bright spark at subaru decided that for the blitzen model you have to remove the whole front bar to replace the globes for the fogs.
the process of removing the bar when you know what you are doing and have done it before is simple and should only take 10min but as ive no clue and was very nervous about having missed a clip or pulling to hard and braking a clip or bracket it was a slow long and painful experience (doesnt help i dont have a ramp or hoist)..once off everything was easy, fitment was good.

Exhaust

next like all luxury cars, they look like good but dont sound the goods....so naturally a new exhaust was in order.

i wanted something good, something different and something that didnt sacrifice either performance or sound...a happy medium.
trip down to see vince at Dandy Exhaust left me feeling confident, we were going to try something unique and as far as i know not yet done on the H6.
a true twin stainless steel exhaust system!
off with the lot and in with a set of nice steel cats up front, 2 1/4" pipes down to middle and into a resonator, out with 2" pipes and back to a set of silent HiTech mufflers and a nice fresh set of tips.

the sound is 100% better than i had expected, when you start her up you get a great deep rumble...then she idles nice and quiet with just a hint of something special. throttle on and its nice and deep with little to no resonance, all the way to redline is this great deep growl (sadly not as nice as the 4cyc boxer noise). when you and cruise along its back to being nice and quiet with the slightest hint of aggressiveness.
to say i love it and am happy with the work is an understatement! i was more than impressed and would highly recommend seeing Vince at Dandy exhaust

ok so here is the final installation.
Fitted is a brand new Outback Bonnet, S-Type spoiler from RRvesports and a set of custom made eyelids.
The bonnet in my opinion looks F'N fantastic, im very happy with the way it looks, and it adds a sense of aggressiveness to an otherwise simple straight lined car.
The eyelids are very subtle and if not pointed out im guessing most people would miss them entirely.
The spoiler, im still not 100% sold on. looks great, flows very well with the lines of the Blitzen but im just not totally sold.

Interior

ok, so i purchased a full true carbon fiber interior o'lay kit from rrevsport...absolutely awesome kit, the quality of the parts and the carbon fiber was exceptional.
i had jason custom make some new door handles and also the center console beside the handbrake for me.
only problem...i didnt like the gloss finish and how even though the finish and build was great i could tell it was a stick on part (the door handles and center console i love and you couldnt tell they were after market)
so with this problem in hand i set about removing all the o'lay pieces and removed all of the parts i wanted to have finished in carbon fiber...all the air con ducts in the front, the side mirror control surround, dash cubby hole, door speaker surrounds front and rear.....surprisingly this was an easy task...with the exception of the doors all the parts just clip in and out. for the doors i removed the whole trim and then unscrewed and popped out the bits i wanted coated.
all parts removed i went about covering them with 3's di-noc carbon fiber vinyl.....and below is the finished product.
the look is almost factory fitment, as i covered the parts and continued the wrap around to the back of each bit so it gave it a seamless finish.
im very happy with the finished product!

Also FYI: You could have removed the fog assembly without removing the front bar by undoing those two bolts that hold the assembly in. It's just a bit of a bitch to get to from underneath

its all hidden by under body panels and mesh bits fro the front. an absolute bitch all b/c the blitzen has a different front bar and fog light assembly.
but if i had to do it again it would only take 10min....even changing the licence plate globes was a pain as there are no external screws, had to open the boot and remove the whole panel

hey how did you take off the tweeter speaker surrounds on the door card? Did the just pop off from the front or do you have to take the door card off and pop the off from the rear?

I have already done some bits with the dinoc vinyl, just have some left i want to use up.

tweeter's just pop out, held in place by only a small rubber plug

Do you do the stickering by your self or someone else?

I have seen his car in the flesh and the carbon work looks fantastic. The stuff is real good quality.

Well done Chris might be my next project after I complete the ongoing ones first.

Clean the part with diluted dishwashing detergent or citrus cleaner, then allow it to fully dry. Make sure hands are impeccably clean.


Cut the sheet larger than the item to be wrapped, pay attention to the alignment of the pattern if you are wrapping a few things in the car which will be close to each other.

Stretch the sheeting over the parts using a hairdryer or heatgun to keep it warm and pliable. Just keep working it so you have no creases. In some areas you may need to cut small slits and overlap the sheet to avoid excessive bunching up. In such situations you position the slits in an inconspicuous area of the part you are wrapping.

Make sure you have a tiny amount to wras past the edges of each piece, and around into the back, since if you trim the sheet right at the edge of the part then shrinkage over time may leave gaps.

Personally I would not wrap anything on the exterior of the car which is painted, since 3M said it is likely the substrate will become ruined over time not only from the adhesive but because other panels will age more quickly than the wrapped panels.
