Coilovers Installed

Hey guys, just thought id share some pics of the coilovers I just had installed on Friday...

These are pedders xtreme XA coilovers.

Very happy with ride height. Comfort is almost as good as stock, and handling has improved heaps.

+1 and IMHO it doesnt suit the car to be that low with stock wheels on... get urself some 19"s and mayyybbee.. but atm it doesnt quite "fit"

And what do you mean by suspension travel...? All i can say is the ride isnt too bumpy or anything, feels perfect. Front is set on 17 (from 0-30, 0 being softest, 30 being hardest), not sure what they set the back on...

I agree with Tek on the travel comment. These coilovers are travel challenged to begin with and they are lllooooooooowwwww so not to say I don't believe you on the ride comfort comment but its not possible that the bump stops can be that comfortable!!

We're not saying you're lying, but that you're probably having post-purchase placebo effect: "I spent so much on this mod it MUST be good!"

IMHO you should get the coilovers reset at a more sensible ride height else risk killing them very quickly, not to mention smashing the absolute bejesus out of all your suspension bushes in the process.

Isnt Ariths ride the same height as this??? How will having them at this height kill them, and what kinda kms are you talking about (they have 2 year, 40000km warranty)? If i put it higher that defeats the purpose of me even getting it lowered lol? How much would bushes be to replace...

Yeah but he's Arith who I'm pretty sure is loaded and would just replace anything that gets broken. Actually no he'd upgrade anything that broke

Each time a strut bottoms out you kill it a tiny bit. The bump stops can only do so much to dampen the shock of metal slamming against metal. Over time the bump stops will perish if they are constantly being hit. Without enough suspension travel the car is going to handle like it's on stilts.

How long will it take for them to fail? How long is a piece of string?

Well I have a free wheel allignment in 1000kms, and by then I plan to have my wheels put on, so maybe Ill just get them to put it up a tiny bit if you reccomend it? How much are suspension bushes on average to replace?

There are so many different bushes and links etc to be specific on price.

Aren't these base height adjustable?
Therefore as long as the pre-load isnt adjusted then you are at much lower risk of bottoming them out than Q and Tek are alluding to. However, if they adjusted the pre-load to get it that low, THEN there may be issues. But I really couldn't see them adjusting the pre-load just to get it lower?!

thats what i was thinking ive got the BC branded coilvers (preety sure their very similar) sittin around same height. only adjusted by bottom mount not the spring preload. had them on for well over 50K Kms and had no dramas as of yet. u should be sweet dude if ur not plannin on trakin it which im preety sure you aint.. but yeh get them wheels on and itll look better
