Well i have finally got around to getting some details up on my new ride.. After the demise of my bugSti, i purchased a stock as a rock MY01 Outback H6 auto back in Jan of 2009.

All the STi brakes, shafts, 6mt, plated R180, alloy front arms and STi 17's all got transfered to the new beast. Interior got the 6mt linkages, gearboot saround, leather handbrake and the STi steering wheel got transfered. i removed the chassis lift kit and bought a set of Tein Flex from IM and fitted them with my old edfc. I also got a set og new Gandor CF mirrors and a jap rear wing from IM, getting the wing sprayed in the factory Pearl Mica. A 2.5" straight through muffler helps to release a litte more noise. Whiteline supplied a 24mm rear swaybar with HD links, and HD link in front with the stock 20mm. whiteline RCK and ALK in front with 16mm alloy spacers on the control arms for more castor. i recently scored a quick-rack out of a v6 sti-ra which completely transformed how the wagon drives and steers.

The last round of mods to be done was some modifications to the rear multi-link rear end. The mod on the top control arm mounting point allows me to adjust my camber by simply changing a rectangular plate with a different offset hole. True tarmac spec now, lol. I also replaced the stock control arms for some home made rose-jointed arms to give some more firmness and allow for more track increase and adjustablity:D

Nice work Dave, especially on the rear suspension. All you need now is a gold ? to go behind the Outback badges, Outback?

i was originally planning on putting on a GT35R.
Then changed my mind and was going to use 2 x TD04's.
Thinking currently is to tune and leave as is now.
Then import a V4-6 STi-RA as a track car and go silly. Not sure.

Got any photo's of the 16mm spacers a.k.a "free caster mod"?
How hard was the R180 to put in? Have to use the inner C.V's of the STi? And on the front too?

i used the whole front end from the bugSti. Alternately you could also you STi sprindles and machine them down. R180 bolted pretty much straight in, had to grind a little of the top of the R180 housing to give some more clearance. For the rear I use 02 STi rear spindles and machined them down and then pushed them into stock outback rear bearings. R180 driveshafts then go straight in. Though part of the rear i went the way i did the rear end, is you need an extra 10mm for each driveshaft due to them being longer.

The bellow with Tein strut tops point back for castor, nets me 8.5 degrees.

8.5 deg, that will be nice, probably be my next mod now.
I've read that some people get scared by doing the castor mod, as they think it will flog out the lower bushes quicker. I could see it happening with the crappy fluid filled stockers, but the poly bushes should be ok?

What did you do the the 6 cyl engine?

How much clearance have you got between the drive shaft and the cross member. We've got 10mm spacers on the rally car, 02 STi RA, and we've only got about 3mm clearance? The Liberty mounts must be further back than the Impreza

i had to persuade the cross member with the angle grinder.
took it back to just b4 where the welded joins start.

H6 is stock except for a 3" bit of pipe with a pod, and muffler.
my outback is MAP, so need need to worry about MAF scale changes.
i do intend to make a full 3" intake into the guard, as NA's hate heat.
