Reverse camera mounted....!! Actually wanted to drill a square hole and mount it a bit further up into the trunk lid handle to make it a bit more stealth, but can't due to the fact that theres metal directly above the middle of the plate where i mounted it. so had to mount it on the handle......

LOL! Some people prefer their privacy. You never know who's reading the forums.

Although it's the same folks who register for the rego plate list, or when someone spots their rego plate on the street they're the first to raise their hand and yell "Hey yeah! That's me! I'm XXX XXX".

Pardon my ignorance if this has been answered - but a search didn't reveal anything to me (maybe i searched for the wrong thing!!)

Anyway, I like the reverse camera! - did you hook that up directly into the factory sat-nav? - or into your stereo?

I've got a my09 GT with the factory McIntosh and Sat-Nav, and want to know if i can hook up a reverse camera to it

Sorry - i found it i was using the wrong search after all

no worries, on my particular model there's no video input on the back of the display so i had to run it through the head unit (had to buy the connector plug from subaru......ouch!)

pm me if u have any questions, as i had a head ache trying to find the right parts....... sentinel knows what im talking about!

My head unit and SatNav don't seem to be set up to talk to each other at all,

Although, looking at your unit - your buttons are different (i don't have audio, or aux or whatever your right button is) and i think i have more buttons

but i went into the diagnostics for the nav unit:

Press "Menu"
touch top center of screen for 10 seconds.
Type in 014220.

And saw it does 'know' if the car is in reverse, and of course if the handbrake is on etc

So hopefully mine has video input directly into the SatNav unit?

oh - and how do you activate the camera (or by having something on the input it 'knows' a camera is there an activates it??)

i think your sat nav is different to mine as i have the model that integrates with the head unit/bluetooth/dvd etc...

so i think yours may have the video connection on the back of your screen. i think a couple of the others can confirm that.

ahhh that is the dilemma im facing now. right now i have to manually press 'aux' if i wanna see the camera (and in reverse gear) but my woes have been documented here:

i have ordered the plug that i need for my head unit which will tell the head unit and screen when reverse is selected and overide the video and display it on screen.
